[Takeru had gotten home from work, a lot of things on his mind for the most part. he was sure of one thing. He needed to speak to Hikari about a lot of things and he felt like now was probably the best time if ever to really do it.
As soon as he stepped through the door he placed the keys into the bowl at the side before making his way in. He paused for a moment greeting his Pokemon who had come to greet him before he looked around.]
[The day had been a whirlwind of emotions for Hikari. Most of them positive.]
[Taichi was back. He was alive. And not just from a time before...he remembered everything up until that moment. And he'd survived. Which meant there was still a chance...]
[Hikari...Are you home?]
[She'd been in the kitchen, mind still reeling from it all as she made herself a light snack, when she heard Takeru's familiar voice ring out. And her smile brightened all the more at hearing it. Putting down the few ingredients she'd been working on, she dried her hands on a nearby towel and walked out to greet him.]
[He had left his Pokemon to do whatever it is they wanted to do as he walked further down the hallway toward where he was sure he heard her voice coming from. Smiling for a brief moment when he spotted her before walking over and without thinking wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.
In all honesty, he didn't want her to see his face for the moment as he was still going over what he wanted to say, but also he just wanted to. After a moment of being quiet, he finally spoke up, still not letting go for the time being.]
[She didn't think much when he started to approach, but when he quickly closed all remaining distance between them and wrapped her in a tight hug--]
[A soft gasp escaped her. Body tensing at first, but only in surprise. Her cheeks flushed a light pink at his abrupt boldness, and she found herself initially at a loss for words.]
[But then...after the initial shock wore off...she relaxed into his hold. Lightly wrapping her own arms around him in return. Eyes closing for a fleeting moment as she allowed herself to rest her head against his shoulder. It felt...nice. Having him hold her like that. She only wished the circumstances would have allowed her to enjoy it more, because she was immediately certain there was a deeper meaning behind the hug.]
[Something was bothering him. Something had happened.]
[And his next statement confirmed those suspicions.]
...the balcony?
[She replied after a moment's pause. All other questions running through her mind right then would either be answered or not, but she knew better than to ask. Whatever he intended to tell her, he would tell her.]
Abra's sleeping in my room, and the others have been floating between the kitchen and the living room. There's no one out there right now.
[Takeru knew he should really let go and he soon moved a bit slowly letting go as he looked at her in the eyes for the moment, giving a small nod as his hands were still lightly placed on her shoulders.]
Yeah, that should be fine. [He slowly moved his hands moving to head to the door leading to it before exiting, going to look out at the view they got. Even on the ground floor, it was still pretty okay.
Glancing over his shoulder he waited for her to come out, hands starting to fidget a little bit, knowing he was getting nervous about the subject, but he knew deep down, this was really something they needed to talk and needed to talk about now instead of just him ignoring it and pretending that everything is okay.
he knew he should stop that really. When he was sure she was outside and the door was shut, he spoke up again.]
I know you are happy about your brother being here and... I am really happy about it but... It... got me thinking about a few things that I felt like we need to really talk about.
[She was close behind, not wanting to make him wait. There was a distinct sound of movement coming from inside, but Hikari was quick to shut the door behind her. Just in case.]
[He spoke up just as she turned around, still staring out at the ground-level view they had. She could feel how nervous he was, and...not that she would admit...it was starting to make her nervous too.]
[Taichi. He was talking about Taichi. Something about his arrival had triggered this bout of nerves. ]
Takeru...
[A hand reflexively came up to the pendant around her neck, grazing the edge of the half heart. It was a habit she'd found herself repeating more and more as of late--similar to her previous habit of raising a fist to her chest, where she could feel the effects of her Crest from within. That's when a thought occured to her. It...didn't feel entirely right, but it was certainly something that could have been relevant to her brother's arrival.]
He knows. About us. [She tried to smile, but it didn't quite reach her ears as she came up beside him. Maybe it wasn't what Takeru was so worried about, but maybe it would ease his mind a fraction.] He saw the necklace you gave me after I found him and figured it out on his own. And he's okay with it.
[His eyes had focused on her the moment she spoke up. However before he was about to speak, he heard what she thought this was about.
It was enough to close his mouth for the moment. Both surprised and not surprised that was the first guess after all. His hands went to pull out his own half, looking at his before he gripped it before looking over toward the other.]
That's not what this is about, but good to at least know. [He paused briefly, pondering over the right words to say, but really the most simple was probably the best idea.] But to get to the point this is about... what happened before we both arrived here in Genessia.
[Body stiffening even more intensely than when he'd hugged her. Eyes widening. She seemed almost...frightened. For the span of roughly half a second. Then nervous. Gaze averting as she placed her hands on the railing and averted her gaze.]
...it was awful. But...it's okay now. [She didn't sound so encouraging when she said that, though. As if she were attempting to convince herself as strongly as him.] Oniichan survived. He remembers what happened, and he's still here.
[The last of her memories was of staring after the place where he'd fallen. Everything else had been a blur.]
[He soon did the same, instead of simply gripping the side he leaned on it. He knew she might not be able to look at him in the eye during this and honestly, he wasn't sure if he could with her. he would potentially try, but he knew that it wasn't going to be at all easy.
This was probably going to be the hardest thing they talked about. Getting it all out in the open, being honest for a change. It felt like it was something that really needed to be done. For the both of them.
He was soon playing with the necklace in his hand, staring at the crest craved into it, taking a small sigh before he finally figured to speak up and continue.]
But what about if something happens to him here, Hikari? [He looked over slightly.] I'm honestly worried about how you'll react because one thing is for sure, sometimes things that can hurt us happen and I am worried you'll just revert back to the way you were when you first arrived.
[Answered in a similarly casual tone; fortunately, a previous conversation with Mimi had informed her what a Prom was, so the question didn’t come as any big surprise.]
[The most casual, now with a touch of amused giggling on her end.]
Oh, I know.
She does seem really excited about it. When I saw her earlier, she was already trying to convince me our outfits need to match. Although I still don’t fully get why that would matter.
[Spoken in a tone that strongly implied she had absolutely no intention of doing such a thing. She wasn't a jealous person by nature, so why should it matter to her that others felt jealousy towards her?]
I think so. If I'm lucky, she'll even let me pick my own outfit.
[That may have been the case, but for once, she saw no reason to make him wait any longer than necessary.]
[The trip back to their quarters wasn't long. Only a ten minute walk. Once there, she placed her camera bag down and made sure to take out the latest roll of film to remind herself to see to it later. Then, she headed to her room. An afternoon picnic meant light, semi-casual wear. She found one of her knee-length skirts and a sleeveless blouse. After reapplying her sunblock and grabbing her day bag, she slipped on her sneakers and headed back out.]
[Only when she was at the entrance to the park did she stop to message him again for a more exact location.]
[Takeru had pretty much spent most of the time laying on the blanket he had set up looking up at the sky. There wasn't all that much there but it was still fun to watch and make sure to not look directly at the sun.
Burds flew overhead before he even felt his phone vibrate. So going into his pocket he quickly glanced before giving a quick reply. If he guessed where she was he knew it wasn't that far from where he was and just mentioned to follow Zorua who he knew must be somewhere close.]
[It was almost impossible not to note the little digimon heading her way. Hikari made sure to kneel down and greet him with a smile and gentle pat on the head.]
[Takeru was just glad Zorua wasn't having one of those prankster days and deciding to change into someone, which will probably be later anyway. But he was behaving and was at least showing the way.
It wasn't that long before he reached the destination with Takeru finally moving to stand up, the usual smile on his face.]
Glad you made it. Welcome to the simple but private picnic. The number of people who pass by this area isn't that much, so shouldn't be much commotion to distract us.
[The movement ahead drew her attention, and for a moment, Hikari forgot to pay their surroundings any heed. She smiled warmly at him, closing the distance just in time for him to reference the seclusion of the area.]
[Only then did she break eye contact long enough to glance around. He was right; there wasn't another human to be seen. Voices in the distance, perhaps, but none at risk of crossing paths anytime soon.]
It's very...peaceful.
[She turned back to him with a similarly peaceful expression. Save for the curious glint in her eye.]

Not sure how it all works though, so that will be fun to have Mimi explain to me about... because you know she will.

I mean it will be simple for me because it won't be that hard to find a suit, but I assume you'll be dress shopping with Mimi?

Hopefully, you are lucky. I'm at least lucky I get to pick my own. I get the feeling if she wanted to she would pick mine out too.

[She absolutely picked up on that, mister.]
There's still a chance she might try. Especially if she thinks we won't match.

Can you please come to the park? I found a really neat spot that is quiet and I figured why not have a nice picnic as our date this month.
text;
I can be there in about half an hour. I just need to head home and change first.
Is that alright?
